Vincent Mireau is a school counsellor in Whitecourt who is nearing the completion of a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology program. Vincent has worked as a generalist school counsellor in his local public high school for several years. He has represented the Council of School Counsellors at the North Central Teachers Convention, Beginning Teachers Conference, and Health and Physical Education Council Conference as a presenter on various topics such as student anxiety and athletic stress management. Vincent also served for two years as the Economic Policy Committee Chair for ATA Local #43. He coaches his local high school football team, the Whitecourt Cats, every fall. Vincent has a keen research interest in recovery from video game and internet addictions, as well as the counselling of religious minority youth. Vincent is an advocate for reducing barriers to post-secondary education for young people. Vincent is proudly rural, fluently francophone, a proud member of the Franco-Albertan community, and a graduate of the Francophone school system.
